The year has already started with a celebration!! We are proud to say that our program achieved a score of 5 in the CAPES four-year evaluation, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in this journey with us.

The II Amazônias Festival will bring more than 40 films from Latin America to the alternative cinema circuit in Bragança (PA). The 2025 edition will take place from December 3rd to 6th, with a program that integrates cinema, music, dance, visual arts, food culture, and debates.
On Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Professors Norma Cristina, Ana Paula Vieira, and Francisco Pereira are representing PPLSA at an event in Colombia with the presentation "INVESTIGAR DESDE EL TERRITORIO, CON EL TERRITORIO Y PARA EL TERRITORIO" (Investigating from the Territory, with the Territory, and for the Territory).
The event is aimed at:
Students and faculty of the PPLSA program;
Students and faculty from the UFPA Bragança campus;
The entire academic community.
PPLSA was present at COP30 at the People's Summit in November 2025, including talks by Professor Dr. Ana Paula Vieira on childhood topics.
On October 29, 2025, UFPA (Federal University of Pará) met with representatives from the municipalities of Bragança, Viseu, and Augusto Correia, including the Secretaries of Culture and Environment, as well as local researchers. The meeting was coordinated by Professor Dr. Francisco Pugliese from the University of Brasília (UNB) and addressed the importance of consolidating the archaeological research group that will be conducted by the Federal University of Pará's postgraduate program, PPLSA. The dissertation “Social Representation and the Multiple Voices of Midwives from Traditional Communities in Northeastern Pará, Brazilian Amazon” was written by graduate Neidivaldo Santana Cruz, supervised by Professor Joana d’Arc de Vasconcelos Neves and co-supervised by Professor Francisco Pereira de Oliveira. It was published in the Beira-rio and Diário do Pará newspapers.
